Mahtan Urundil

Mahtan Urundil, his after-name meaning 'copper-lover', was trained by the Vala Aulë in smithcraft in Valinor, and in turn became the teacher of Fëanor, the greatest of all Elven craftsmen and the creator of the Silmarils. He was the father of Nerdanel, wife of Fëanor, and had copper-red hair, an unusual trait among the Noldor. He also sported a beard, which, being only in his second stage of life, was extremely rare for an Elf. The Elves of the Silmarillion have a deep love for the stars, as they were born under them, and here Mahtan steps outside his high dwelling for a quiet moment with the face of the moon.

On doing a bit of 'research', I chanced upon the incredible, but not well-known actor Dan Donohue. Equipped with a beautiful, sculpted face, high cheek bones and forehead and striking red hair, I immediately saw him as the perfect Elf. The torque he is wearing, I actually made, out of copper, forging and 'chasing' into the gorgeous metal.
